The weather is back to being unbearably hot again, so I’ve only been in 100% cotton outfits like nobody’s business. This is the how I normally dress when running around in the sweltering heat from one errand to another, by the way!
When I was around 16, I asked my mom to get me a pair of camouflage cargo pants because all of my friends were rocking them off-school and I didn’t want to be in frilly dresses anymore. When we shopped for one, my dad also got a pair in solidarity, HAHA. Mine had a low-waist and puddle hem because I am petite, but still wore it close to its imminent death; frayed hems and washed out print by the time I grew too fat for it. I still own that same cargo pants until today, and miraculously, could still fit into it. I wore it for a few years, but finally decided to retire it for good just last year, because the fabric was getting more fragile with every wash.
This pair worn here is a replacement, and while the hem still puddles, it is a little ruched with zippers so it doesn’t get stepped on too much. I still cuff it up a little some times, just in case. I live, breath, and eat in cargo pants because I literally walk and run a lot when doing outside errands, so I’d like to be handsfree and have my essentials tucked nicely into the many available pockets. My number one priority when buying almost anything nowadays is for the fabric to be 100% cotton, but I don’t mind if it has a little spandex stretch.
Here is a close-up of the jewelry I was wearing:
Notice the mixed metals? I normally dislike doing this, but since my outfit is plain, I thought it’ll look cool and more cohesive when I swapped the pendants around. I also wore a pair of metallic silver flats to stick to the accent theme.
